Oil Change Instructions For Our Customers

Posted on 8/3/2016 by Craig Abler

Change oil and filter every 4,000 miles or 5,000 miles if synthetic oil or synthetic-blend oil is used.  We do not recommend paying extra for expensive “High Mileage” motor oil. It is just regular oil with a fancy name for marketing.

Lube all grease-able tie rods, ball joints, shafts, u-joints, and suspension parts.

Check the gear lube in the front and rear differentials and top off if necessary. This applies to 4x4s and rear drive vehicles.

Check transfer case fluids (4x4s) and top off when necessary.

Do not flush brake and power steering fluids.

We do not recommend transmission fluid flushes. The issues with these are: the filter is not changed, and they run a cleaner through the transmission which is a solvent. Solvents are never recommended. A transmission filter and fluid exchange is what we recommend if truly needed.

Get a second opinion on extra repairs and fluid flushes.

Mail or drop off a copy of all oil change receipts to: Grand Chute Auto, 300 N Lynndale Dr., Appleton, WI 54914 or e-mail receipt to craig@grandchuteauto.com to keep your limited warranty coverage valid. Craig’s phone is 920-740-1766.
